The Back Story

Our culinary collaboration began in our junior year of college when we, along with a host of friends, rented an apartment in the upper Garden District of New Orleans. Though the college environment is hardly conducive to haute cuisine, we quickly realized nonetheless that we both loved preparing fine food, drinking interesting wines (along with the occasional boxed one...), and inviting our friends over for both. During the two years that we lived together we hosted many dinner parties. We served home-cooked meals, wines and a succession of fun, inventive cocktails.
Of course these gatherings were wrought with challenges: the college lifestyle means limited budgets, as well as unexpected guests! Through it all, we learned a lot about improvisational cooking, wine pairing, creating our own cocktails, and most importantly how to pull them all together into a great dinner party.
We no longer live together, but between the two of us span the metropolitan centers of the country, living alternately in Boston, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. Despite the distance we want to continue our culinary collaboration by sharing with you our love for food and hosting. We are by no means experts, just a couple of twenty-somethings navigating the world of cooking, and hosting; eating and drinking.
